You are here

The Town of Surfside Beach proudly proclaims itself "The Family Beach," and it's easy to see why. Even in an area like the Grand Strand that is dedicated to family fun, there are few places that cater to kids as Surfside does.

A quick drive through the area shows you that, unlike the high-rise-filled waterfronts of some resort areas, Surfside Beach has a more residential feel. We're not just speaking in terms of rental houses, either… people actually live here, and the family-friendly atmosphere is a direct result. Even though most of the rental properties are concentrated near the ocean, don't miss the areas numerous parks and lakes, many of which offer public access.

As in Garden City Beach to the south, the Surfside Pier represents both the geographic and social center of the town. Located at the intersection of Surfside Drive and Ocean Boulevard, it has attracted several unique restaurants to its immediate vicinity, including River City Café and Bubbas Fish Shack. All cater to adults and kids alike with great food and good times.

If the ocean isn't enough, Surfside is also home to one of the Grand Strand's premier attractions. Wild Water and Wheels Family Fun Park is an experience your kids (and the kid in you) will never forget. From high-speed gravity-defying slides to an enormous wave pool to the relaxing 950-foot lazy river, there's something for everyone.

Perhaps the best feature of Surfside, however, is the fact that it offers all this… and is still just minutes from all the sights, sounds and attractions that made Myrtle Beach "America's Beach Playground." Come see for yourself… you'll be glad you did!
